Irongran’s fitness tips are for life

Edwina Brocklesby, who turned 75 last month, has created a guide to exercising later in life – but you don’t have join in with her triathlon training!

Edwina “Eddie” Brocklesby has been dubbed “Irongran” for her successes in the worlds of marathon and triathlon since she took up sport at the age of 50. As she publishes a guide to exercise in later life, she answers some of our questions.

Lift some simple weights – even two tins of baked beans will work. Find a friend to have fun together. Swimming – there is always a “feel good factor” after swimming.
