Poll finds 44% of Britons want final say on Brexit deal

- By DAVID HUGHES

Some 44 per cent of Britons want a “final say” on the Brexit deal, compared with 36 per cent who do not, a poll has indicated.

The survey asked if the public should be given the chance to decide whether to accept the terms of the deal Theresa May negotiates with Brussels or remain in the European Union after all.

The Yougov poll for campaign group Best for Britain, which wants the UK to remain open to staying in the EU, found that, if there was another referendum on Europe, 44 per cent would vote to stay and 41 per cent to leave.

Best for Britain’s chief executive Eloise Todd said: “The possibility of Brexit is sharpening the public’s minds and now there is a decisive majority in favour of a final say for the people of our country on the terms of Brexit. This poll is a turning-point moment.”
