Scotland enjoyed their most successful day so far at the Commonwealth Games yesterday with eight medals, including three golds, taking their tally to 23. Swimmer Duncan Scott won gold in the 100m freestyle, cyclist Mark Stewart won the 40km points race and bowlers Ronald Duncan, Derek Oliver and Darren Burnett won men’s triples gold. Cyclists Neah Evans and Callum Skinner took silver and bronze respectively and there were further bronzes for the men’s 4x200 swimming relay team, hammer thrower Mark Dry and gymnast Dan Purvis.
