Line-up: Cardboard Zuckerbergs protest as tech giant chief appears before committees
One hundred cardboard cutouts of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg stand outside the US Capitol in Washington. Advocacy group Avaaz is calling attention to what it says are hundreds of millions of fake accounts still spreading disinformation on Facebook. Zuckerberg arrived to give evidence before US Congress about false information on the platform and its role in the Cambridge Analytica scandal. In a packed room on Capitol Hill, Zuckerberg was told by Senator John Thune, that the misuse of personal Facebook data by third parties “should be a wake-up call for the tech community”.
