20 years ago there was a report that said the UK had four times the retail space than it required. Yet planners continued to allow new retail parks and malls. Shops are closing because of greedy landlords and councils charging crazy rents and rates. Row deepens over shrine to burglar stabbed to death during a break-in at the home of a pensioner.
