The New York Yan­kees bounced back from a 14-1 drub­bing at the hands of the Bos­ton Red Sox on Wed­nes­day to win 10-7 - and break Bos­ton’s nine-game win­ning streak. The game at Fen­way Park was a heated af­fair – with the two sides trad­ing blows in the sev­enth in­ning when Tyler Austin was struck with a pitch and the benches clear­ing as the two sides con­fronted each other. New York took a 4-1 lead af­ter the first with a Gary Sanchez homer, and Sanchez dou­bled up in the fourth with a two run homer. J.D. Martinez scored a grand slam to bring Bos­ton within two runs, but New York grabbed two more runs in the sixth. The Min­nesota Tim­ber­wolves clinched a spot in the NBA post-sea­son by beat­ing the Denver Nuggets 112-106 in over­time in a win­ner-take­sall game.
