BIKE CHAMPS RETURN TO KNOCKHILL
Knockhill Racing Circuit will this weekend play host to the opening round of the 2018 KMSC & Scottish Bike Racing Championships.
This year, the championships are bigger than ever, with a record entry list of more than 150 riders and 34 races scheduled for the weekend.
Among the classes and championships being contested are the Scotwaste Superbike and Clubman Championship; the Bitwise Formula 600 Championship; the Cupar Motorcycles Pre-injection 600 Championship ; the Shirlaw’s Motorcycles Lightweight Championship; the Skinner Motorcycles F125 Championship and the KMSC CB500S.
Club president Niall Mackenzie, said: “There has been an increase in participation at early road race meetings south of the border so I’m delighted to see we also have a strong number of entries across the classes for the first KMSC meeting of 2018.
“I believe our continued success is having the right classes to accommodate the majority of Scottish riders plus excellent race day organisation.
“I’m pleased to report all of our sponsors have stayed on board with some even increasing their support, which benefits everyone.”
Chairman of the KMSC Stuart Gray, added: “We are especially looking forward to this weekend as the track was resurfaced in November 2017 and we could be in for a whole raft of new lap records. Whatever happens, the riders always provide some of the best club racing in the UK, fighting fairing to fairing for the Club and Scottish Championship honours.”
Racing starts at around 1.30pm on Saturday and 10.30am on Sunday with Adult admission £15, concessions £10 and under 12s are free
