Overturned lorry shuts down busy main road

A busy road through southern Scotland was closed twice yesterday due to an overturned lorry.

The A76 was shut about 8am at Mennock, close to Sanquhar north of Dumfries, following the accident.

Emergency services were sent to the scene. The road was briefly reopened before closing again at 10am for almost three hours. Police Scotland confirmed nobody was injured.
