Call centre jobs in store at Kura

- By SCOTT REID

Glasgow-based contact centre specialist Kura is expected to create some 150 extra jobs across its four UK sites thanks to a string of business wins.

Additional contracts with a national charity, one of the UK’S largest automotive insurers and a retail giant have already created more than 300 posts in 2017.

Most recently, following the opening of its first major new site outside of Scotland, Kura was appointed to the Crown Commercial Service framework. The work – spanning the next four years – will enable the firm to bid for government contracts which could support hundreds of new jobs.

The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) brings together policy, advice and direct buying – providing commercial services to the public sector.

Last year’s contract win with the car insurance group has seen the firm take on an additional 120 employees in Glasgow.

In September, Kura began working on a major new customer project with a top retailer which has created up to 150 roles. It marks the first major retail client that the company has secured.

Brian Bannatyne, Kura’s chief executive, said: “We’re a business that’s serious about improving the environment of our employees and we will continue to invest in them. As an example, we are relocating parts of business to Forres which will create 50 new jobs in the region.

“This is driven by the new office environment we are creating in Glasgow. We’ll be reducing our seat capacity and introducing more training and one-to-one rooms, as we believe this will improve the advisor’s performance and personal development.”

Last summer, Kura secured a new contract with older people’s charity, Independent Age.
