#SNPDEPUTE

The race to be Nicola Sturgeon’s number two in the SNP is hotting up, with three candidates declared at the close of nominations. Councillor Chris Mceleny, MSP Keith Brown, and party activist Julie Hepburn will fight it out to succeed Angus Robertson as depute leader.

@Annjamieson wrote: “Mceleny understands the motivation of so many of us in the SNP. This is about self-determination, which must flourish at the very local level. But we will only ever get there with the SNP and strong leadership in our Parliament.”

@Jummurphy reported: “SNP depute leadership hopeful Julie Hepburn has called for calm in the row over the timing of indyref2. She asked members to trust ‘our First Minister to make the right judgement when the time comes’, adding that the campaign to win needed to start right now.”

#SCOTTISHCUP

The Scottish Cup is getting closure to its finale as two semi-finals take place over the weekend at the national stadium, Hampden. Aberdeen and Motherwell play today, before Celtic and Rangers will fight it out for a place in the final on Sunday.

@Alan_burrows posted: “Thanks massively to every ‘Well fan who has bought (or will buy) a ticket and will head to Hampden for the FOURTH time this season. We’ll again have well over double our average home support at the game! It’s appreciated by all at the club. Enjoy your day!”

@Sickb0y wrote: “I swear to god, If I see a 38 year old Kenny Miller start in an Old Firm Scottish cup Semi-final, heads will roll Ladies and Gentlemen. Heads will roll.”

#STILLGAME

We bid a (temporary) farewell to the gang from Craiglang this week as the current series of Still Game came to an end. Isa attempted to find love.

@Abbiquinn7 wrote: “Still game just isn’t the same anymore at all, sorry but it had to be said.”

@Ryanali72 agreed: “Another new character the night. Watching Still Game slowly decline is heartbreaking. Miss you Eric!”

@7_Kierandonald posted: “Don’t know why everyone’s hating on Still Game saying it’s not the same. Still absolute comedy gold in my eyes.”
