Eight of Scotland’s top young badminton players have been selected to compete in the BWF World Junior Championsh­ips in Canada, in November. Badmintons­cotland chief executive Anne Smillie said: “We’ve seen junior badminton in Scotland go from strength to strength recently. We’re really excited to see what’s to come over the next few weeks, months and years.” The World Junior Championsh­ips is being held from 5-18 November 2018 at the Markham Pan Am Centre, Ontario Canada. The Team Event will be played from 5-10 November, followed by the Individual Events from 12-18 November. The Scotland squad: Joshua Apiliga, 17 (Glasgow), Christophe­r Grimley, 18 (Glasgow), Matthew Grimley, 18 (Glasgow), Adam Pringle, 17 (Giffnock), Rachel Andrew, 17 (Edinburgh), Lauren Middleton, 17 (Dundee), Sarah Sidebottom, 17 (Rothesay), Rachel Sugden, 16 (Alexandria).
