War memorial to animals unveiled
The first-ever national memorial dedicated to horses, mules and donkeys killed in the First World War has been created to commemorate 100 years since the war.
The Black Isle Bronze Foundry, in Nairn, Scottish Highlands, has cast a two and a half metre bronze horse to celebrate the service of the animal. Susan Osborne, of the War Horse Memorial, said: “This is the first ever memorial, there is nothing like this.”
