Online sales light up at candle firm

Govan-based Shearer Candles has sold close to £500,000 worth of candles online in the past year.

The 120-year-old business, which employs 50 staff, said it had increased its sales significantly after starting to sell through Amazon Marketplace seven years ago. The firm, whose factory is on Robert Street, recorded an annual turnover of £2.5 million last year.
