Call for ‘Aberdeen 9’ decision
Labour MSPS have called for nine Aberdeen councillors suspended from the party after forming a coalition with the Conservatives to be reinstated.
In a vote last week taken without party leader Richard Leonard, Labour MSPS voted unanimously to reinstate the group.
The move is reported to have angered left-wingers on the Labour executive, who fear the move could provide a political gift to the SNP.
No formal decision is expected on the councillors’ position after a discussion by the Labour executive scheduled for Sunday was postponed.
