Forrest: Sealing title in front of our supporters would be ‘tremendous’

-

Celtic winger James For rest is relishingthe chance to cl inch the ladbrokes Premiership title against Rangers this week after Saturday’s humbling by Hibernian.

The champagne remains on ice for the runaway league leaders following their 2-1 defeat at Easter Road. Goals from Jamie Maclaren and Vykintas Slivka either side of the break put Hibs in control and a late Odsonne Edouard strike was all the visitors could muster.

Celtic were set to celebrate their seventh successive league triumph

until Neil Lennon’s side spoiled the party.

There are four fixtures to go and Rangers, who beat Hearts 2-1 at Ibrox yesterday to go within ten points of Brendan Rodgers’ side, are the visitors to Celtic Park on Sunday.

Forrest hopes to seal the title in front of a sell-out crowd. “Hibs played well and we obviously didn’t play as well as we can, so we need to give credit to Hibs and look forward to next week and hopefully win it then,” he said.

“We have four games left and want to wrap the title up as soon as we can.

“After the season we’ve had, we need to be positive. This defeat is gone now and it would be tremendous to now go and do it in front of our own fans and give them something to cheer about.”
