The view from space: Nasa captures image of the Highlands lying under a cloudless sky

-

Looking out from a window on the International Space Station, an astronaut captured this rare photograph of the Highlands. According to Nasa, landscape photography from space is typically prevented by cloud-covered skies in the region, especially during the winter months. The view shows snow-capped mountains north of Glen Mor, which include some of the oldest rocks in Europe.
