Robertson finishes work at Social Bite Village site

0 Bob Gould and Tony Fry of Robertson, Josh Littlejohn of Social Bite, Robertson’s Ron Bathgate Constructi­on and civil engineerin­g outfit Robertson Group said it had underlined its commitment to tackling societal issues after completing work at the Social Bite Village in Edinburgh.

The village, which comprises a number of two-bedroom homes, aims to tackle homelessne­ss by providing a safe living environmen­t for up to 20 people per year.

Robertson Civil Engineerin­g provided works in a twophasepr­ogrammetha­tincluded groundwork­s and the con- struction of roads, footpaths and hardstandi­ngs for the accommodat­ion modules.

Tony Fry, managing director of Robertson Civil Engineerin­g, said: “It’s vital that we use our position within the built environmen­t industry to help tackle some of the biggest social and environmen­tal challenges we face – such as homelessne­ss.”

A number of the firm’s subcontrac­tors provided plant, labour and materials throughout the project, along with further supply chain support.
