Blooming marvellous: Record sales gains for Dobbies Garden Centres

Dobbies Garden Centres saw its highest ever sales over the weekend just past, with Friday, Saturday and Sunday beating all records, the firm said yesterday. Its centre at Melville, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, saw a record 7,000 visitors on Sunday 22 April. The firm said decent weather may have prompted some last-minute garden parties, with sales of BBQS and outdoor furniture soaring over the weekend, up 70 per cent and 50 per cent respectively, against 2017. Founded by James Dobbie in 1865, the group has 34 sites.
