Klopp: We’ll support him if he wants to be manager

-

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits Steven Gerrard will have his full support if he chooses to become Rangers manager. However, the German joked the same courtesy would not be afforded should Everton or Manchester United ever come calling.

“I am not worried because if – and it’s a big if – something happens it was always clear he was, is and will always be a Liverpool legend,” Klopp said.

“Whatever he wants to do we support him in that, it’s as easy

as that. If he thinks he is ready, he is ready.

“I can imagine clubs are interested in signing Stevie. He has massive experiences as player and now he is a manager. I would think about him as well if I owned a club. One day it will happen, either here or somewhere else. It’s his decision and he is old enough to decide that.

“If he thinks he wants to do something different we will be completely happy for him and as long as it is not manager of Everton or Manchester United we would still help him if he has questions.”

Gerrard has guided his side to third in the Under-18 Premier League North and if he wins his final match of the season at Manchester City they would leapfrog their opponents to finish runners-up behind Manchester United.
