Labour to ‘ root out’ anti- Semitism
Labour have “not done nearly enough, quickly enough” in tackling anti- Semitism within the party, the shadow communities secretary has said.
Andrew G wynn es aid the party was determined to “root out” anti-Semitism as he dismissed suggestions the issue was being used by Labour MPS to attack Jeremy Corbyn.
“Let’ sbe clear: we have to make progress on this – we’ve not done nearly enough quickly enough, and that is recognised across the Labour Party,” he told the Andrew Marr Show. “We are determined not just to call out anti- Semitism, but to root out anti- Semitism. It has no place in the Labour Party.”
MrGwyn new as asked whether anti-Semitism was being used to attack Mr Corbyn. He replied :“No, and Jeremy has made very clear that the notion that these are sm ears against the Labour Party he does not accept that.”
