Pedestrian, 18, dies after being knocked down

Police Scotland have confirmed an 18- year-old pedestrian was struck by a red Volkswagen Polo motor car and sadly died from his injuries in Aberdeenshire.

The collision happened at around 10 pm on Saturday night on t he A980 Alford to Torphins Road at Craigievar Hall in Alford.

Officers have appealed for information from anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them.
