MP suspended over ‘inappropriate texts’
MP John Woodcock has been suspended from the Labour Party amid allegations he sent inappropriate text messages to an aide.
The Edinburgh University graduate is alleged to have sent text messages to a woman between 2014 and 2016. It is said she felt uncomfortable and left her job.
The Cumbria MP is the exhusband of Scottish one-time National Union of Student president Mandy Telford, with whom he has two daughters. He is a long-standing critic of Jeremy Corbyn.
