#AMBERRUDD

Amber Rudd has resigned after she was accused of misleading Parliament over her knowledge of a set target for immigrants deported from the UK. @janemerrick23 posted: “Amber Rudd resignation is right. The first memo was bad enough; the second memo made her position untenable. Yes, all these caveats below apply, but she still had to go.” @Ianblackfordmp added: “Amber Rudd has resigned, it was the right thing to do. She was not on top of what was going on in her department. Let us not lose sight of the fact, though, that the policies that have targeted migrants were made when the PM was at the Home Office.” @gmgmgm12344321 wrote: “Theresa May is more culpable in this scandal than Amber Rudd ever was. She should resign.”

#KILTWALK

A record-breaking 10,063 walkers took to the streets of Glasgow on Sunday to take part in the biggest ever Royal Bank of Scotland Kiltwalk, which is set to raise over £2 million for charity. Glasgow bar @Rhoderick_ Dhu tweeted: “Congrats to one of our regulars, Charlie Mcdonald, who raised over £400 for Altzeimers, Scotland charity. Thanks to all the regulars from The Rhoderick Dhu for donations. Charlie now with a well-deserved pint.” @fionastewart139 said: “Had a great day on my first #Kiltwalk Roll on next year! I might be able to walk by then!”

#PRO14

A deal has been struck that will see every PRO14 fixture shown live on TV in high definition, PRO14 Rugby has announced. @adeherb said: “As an exile it is hard to get to games, bar 1872 Christmas games, or when Glasgow played at Leicester, so TV is my route into the #PRO14. Initially not impressed by proposals, but coming round to it now – £10 for all games is good value. Caveat is quality of service” @Intertatters said: “Stupid decision. Has everybody within the sport forgotten the Setanta and ITV Digital fiascos? Never put all your eggs in one pay TV basket, especially if the pay TV channel is not Sky or BT. Short-term financial gain at the expense of growth. Stupidity at its finest.”
