Accountancy firm Deloitte has today unveiled its new managing partner for its regional markets, whose staff deliver more than a third of the firm’s annual revenues.

Biddle is a transaction services partner who advises FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies on mergers and acquisitions. She is a member of the Deloitte North West Europe board and also acts as the practice senior partner for de lo it te midlands.

In 2002 she joined Deloitte, whose offices in Scotland comprise Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, after a decade at Arthur Andersen. Her career has spanned audit, consulting and financial advisory, and she has also led the firm’s aerospace and defence industry group.

Biddle said: “Our 6,000 people across seven regional practices and 18 local offices are already achieving great things and successfully delivering over a third of the firm’s annual revenues. However, to make an impact that really matters in our UK regions, investing in our people is my foremost priority.”

She said headcount in Deloitte's regions is up nearly 6 per cent with more than 1,450 people hired in the last year. “I will be leading our teams in delivering excellence to their clients while supporting growth, improving productivity and driving the regions to economic prosperity.”

Steve Williams, Deloitte’s senior partner for Scotland and Northern Ireland, said Biddle's appointment will help the group's efforts to innovate, disrupt and offer new services, “building on the investment that we have already made to make Deloitte truly distinctive in Scotland”.
