Number one all over: New look for temple youngster set to live like a monk

-

A boy, whose Buddhist name is Da Sun, touches his newly shaved head during a service to have an experience of the lives of Buddhist monks, at the Seoul Jogye Temple in, South Korea. Ten children entered the temple to experience life there for three weeks ahead of the celebrations for Buddha’s upcoming birthday on May 22. Jogyesa is the chief temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, becoming so in 1936. It plays a leading role in the current state of Seon Buddhism in South Korea. The temple was first established in 1395, at the dawn of the Joseon Dynasty.
