Promotions at Brodies takes staff total to 645

Law firm Brodies has unveiled a string of promotions across several sectors as it implements its strategic plans to 2021.

The business, which has offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Brussels, has revealed five new partners, eight managing associates and 14 associates. Angela Mcculloch, David Lightbody, Elaine Petterson, Jane Mcmonagle and Louise Kelso step up to partner in their respective areas, bringing the firm’s total to 97.

Brodies also said it has retained 13 of its trainees as newly qualified lawyers, with its total number of people including partners now 645.

Managing partner Nick Scott said: “These promotions mark the first down payment on the investment in our people that we are committed to make as we implement our strategic plans for the period to 2021.”

He added that the range of sectors represente­d in the roles also shows “the resilience of our clients, and the opportunit­y that remains for well-run independen­t law firms”.
