Brechin City Tougher than expected

Having beaten Raith Rovers and Alloa Athletic in the League 1 play-offs last year, no-one anticipated the Championship would have been so hard. Our first game resulted in a heavy defeat by Queen of the South and it just became harder and harder. Our points total for the season was four, and all those were won at Glebe Park.

But there have been some positives. Brechin have lost more than 15 games with a one-goal margin. We also seemed to perform better when playing against the toughest opposition such as St Mirren and Dundee United.

Now we head back to League 1, but I certainly would not have changed gaining promotion and shredding nerves for another season at that level.
