Woman dies after river rescue at Loch Ness
A woman has died after being rescued from a river at Loch Ness.
Emergency services were sent to the scene, near the mouth of the River Moriston at Invermoriston, after the alarm was raised just after 1: 20pm on Thursday.
Police, fire, ambulance and coastguard personnel, as well as the RNLI Loch Ness lifeboat, were part of the operation.
The 42- year-old was rescued and taken by coast guard helicopter to Raig more Hospital in Inverness, where she died a short time later.
There are no suspicious circumstances.
