MUSTANG TOPS GLOBAL SALES CHART

The Ford Mustang has enjoyed its third straight year as the best-selling sports coupe in the world.

Global Mustang registrations in 2017 totalled 125,809 cars, according to Ford analysis of new registration data from around the world.

In the UK it even out sold the Porsche 911, with 2,211 units shifted in 2017.

“The world is falling in love with Mustang ,” says E rich M erk le, Ford’ s sales analyst .“Mustang re presents the best of American design, performance and freedom, with an unmistakable personality that appeals – regardless of your post code.”

Ford sold 13,100 Mustangs in Europe last year and has sold 5,000 since 2015. Worldwide, it has sold more than 400,000 since global exports began in 2015.

This year Ford has launched an updated version of the iconic muscle car with more power for the best- selling V8 GT model, along with new technology and the option of a tenspeed automatic gearbox.
