Weir brings in Baird as his new No2
Forfar manager Jim Weir has brought in his former Montrose striker John Baird as a player and assistant manager.
Weir first worked with t he 32- year- old a decade ago at Links Park and he will replace Barr y Sellars in the No 2 role with Sellars remaining as a coach.
Baird has also played for St Mirren, Stenhousemuir, Brechin City, Airdrie, Raith Rovers( twice ), Dundee, Par tick Thistle, Queen of the South, Falkirk and ended this season on loan at Morton from Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Weir said: “I have kept in touch with John ever since he played for me at Links Park and with his contract at Inverness expiring I knew I had a chance of getting him.
“I am delighted that he has said yes and to bring a player here who has played more than 400 games and scored over 120 goals is a bit of a coup.”
