Nicola Sturgeon is in danger of being too quick to make decisions. Her intemperate rebuttal of perfectly valid claims over the safety of the SNP baby box (“Nicola Sturgeon slams Tories for ‘frightening parents’ over baby boxes”, The Scotsman, 4 May) could easily come back to haunt her.

Shona Robison is in deep trouble over health issues and Ms Sturgeon would have been better advised to keep a low profile on the subject. The Scottish National Party may be finding out that saying the health service ‘is only safe with us’ is perhaps too bold a statement. Ms Robison’s position is daily looking more fragile.

With this issue and the SNP stance on Brexit, apart from all the other woes of education, economy, taxation and police, Ms Sturgeon is not far behind.
