Man arrested as pensioner falls and hits her head

A man has been arrested after a woman was seriously injured in an alleged robbery in Greenock.

The 81-year-old woman fell and hit her head during an incident on Auchneagh Road in the west coast town on Friday.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged over the altercatio­n.

He is expected to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court tomorrow. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal. Sex workers have taken part in an “iconic” workers’ rights march for the first time.

A group of campaigner­s from charity Scot-pep and grassroots organisati­on the Sex Worker Advocacy and Resistance Movement (Swarm) joined thousands of other activists for the annual May Day march in Glasgow yesterday.
