It’s three and easy for clinical Kyles in cup derby clash with Inveraray

Holders Kyles Athletic clinched a place in the Artemis Macaulay Cup quarter-finals courtesy of a derby win over Inveraray at Strachurmo­re. Roddy Macdonald put them ahead and Grant Irvine’s double made it 3-0.

Kinlochshi­el continued their good run, recovering from the loss of Drew Macdonald’s early goal to beat Newtonmore 2-1 at Braeview Park. Keith Macrae and Ali Nixon were on target.

Glenurquha­rt beat Caberfeidh 3-0 on penalties after their tie at Blairbeg finished 4-4 after extra-time. Glen’s James Macp her son and cabers’ craig Morrison both scored twice before penalties from James Macpherson, Fraser Heath and Connor Golabek won the day.

Lochaber led Lovat at Balgate through Connor Sweeney but Greg Matheson’s brace and Lorne Mackay’s strike gave Lovat a 3-1 win.

Willie Neilson, Craig Macdougall, Lorne Dickie, Daniel Cameron and Daniel Macvicar gave Oban Camanachd a 5-1 win over Glasgow Mid Argyll at Mossfield, cancelling out Craig Anderson’s opener.

Kingussie beat Skye 2-0 after extra-time at the Dell, with James Hutchison and Roddy Young netting.

Oban Celtic beat Bute 2-1 at Mossfield. Ally Mckerrache­r and Ross Macmillan’s penalty made the difference with Robert Walker replying for Bute, who had two players sent off.

Ballachuli­sh were given a bye against Aberdour.
