On top of the world: RAF batons reach highest UK peaks to mark centenary year

A baton was carried up Ben Nevis as part of celebrations markingthe Raf’s100th year. Two other batons were simultaneously taken up Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales. The unique Three Peaks event was part of Ukwide RAF100 Baton Relay, but also coincides with the 70th anniversary of the RAF Mountaineering Association and the 75th anniversary of its Mountain Rescue Service.
