Car used in shooting was ‘stolen weeks earlier’

- By ANGUS HOWARTH

Officers investigating the murder of a man shot as he sat in a car have released details of the vehicle used in the shooting.

Kenny Reilly, 29, was the passenger in a silver BMW when a black Ford S Max pulled up and a passenger, wearing a black balaclava, got out of the car and shot him on Bilsland Drive in Glasgow at around 10.20pm on 16 April.

He was taken to hospital but died a few days later.

Detective Superintendent Kenny Graham said: “I am now in a position to say that the people carrier that was found burnt out nearby in Craigieburn Gardens was a black Ford S Max.

“Following forensic examination by specialist officers we know it was definitely the car used in the shooting and that it had been stolen from the Giffnock area of Glasgow.”
