Man suffers serious burn in car fire

A 54-year-old man suffered serious burns in a car fire.

Emergency services were called to the incident near Irongray Church near Dumfries at about 10am yesterday.

The blaze was put out by firefighters and the man, who was found at the scene, was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Police said the area around the scene had been cordoned off for a time during the incident.
