Hamilton Accies Penalty pain eases

-

With Accies all but safe from relegation despite Tuesday’s loss to St Johnstone, the pain of Dougie Imrie’s penalty miss at Dens Park at the weekend is just a memory. We weren’t dreadful against Dundee; they deserved their lead but we were the better team after the break. Imrie’s penalty was poor, but he’s been reliable from 12 yards and will be again. It would be churlish to criticise a player who has given us so much.

The announcement of Lewis Ferguson’s departure came at a bad time, despite its inevitability. Plenty of fans are criticising the club for not getting him onto a longer deal, but a new deal will have been offered and rejected. We’re a selling club but to lose Lewis after such a small number of games is really painful. Hopefully he can help towards a successful end to the season.
