‘A touch of the Hamptons comes to Gullane’

-

Seaside living is a dream for many and the improvement in the weather at this time of year makes it a particularly popular time to consider a house by the shore.

Marine Rise, a development by Cala Homes (East) in Gullane, has launched two showhomes.

The houses, on the site of the village’s Marine Hotel, which later served as the Scottish Fire Rescue Service College, opened to the public on Saturday.

The development will also open apartment showhomes in the late summer, one of which will be within historic Henderson House. The conversion of the substantial college sits at the heart of the project.

While the apartments are likely to attract downsizers, the showhouses have been designed to highlight generous space for a family.

Soft, pastel tones have been used throughout by Carol Yates Design to reflect the properties’ tranquil coastal setting.

Yates says: “The showhomes have been inspired by Gullane’s lovely location and all that goes with it, including a relaxed lifestyle by the coast with golf and coastal walks.

The houses feature soft pastels and bright colours
