Belle and Sebastian frontman Stuart Murdoch will urge people to “make a noise” to help improve the lives of at least 20,000 Scots living with myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME).

The lead singer of the indie band, who has lived with the condition most of his adult life, will join campaigners in Edinburgh tomorrow to mark ME awareness day.

ME Action Scotland have organised the Millions Missing Edinburgh protest at the Mound outside the National Galleries of Scotland.

The event is just one of more than 100 being held across the world which are support by the charity #Meaction.

Speaking before the Edinburgh event, Murdoch said: “So many people with ME are housebound and these are people that we really have to make a noise for.
