The criteria for basic digital skills was created by technology think tank Doteveryon­e.

Below are examples of tasks within the five main criteria which need to be met to be deemed capable of basic digital skills. ● Managing Informatio­n: Using search engines to find out informatio­n or research something on a website. ● Communicat­ing: Sending emails and contacting friends, work contacts and family members through other online means such as social networking. ● Transactin­g: With more public services moving online, being able to carry out basic transactio­ns such as online banking or paying bills online is seen as an essential skill. ● Problem Solving: Solving a problem using online help. ● Creating: Completing online applicatio­n forms.
