The criteria for basic digital skills was created by technology think tank Doteveryone.
Below are examples of tasks within the five main criteria which need to be met to be deemed capable of basic digital skills. ● Managing Information: Using search engines to find out information or research something on a website. ● Communicating: Sending emails and contacting friends, work contacts and family members through other online means such as social networking. ● Transacting: With more public services moving online, being able to carry out basic transactions such as online banking or paying bills online is seen as an essential skill. ● Problem Solving: Solving a problem using online help. ● Creating: Completing online application forms.
