Nurses to get fast track midwifery place

-

Nurses in the Highlands and Islands are being offered the chance to complete fast-track midwifery training.

The 20-month course will be available to local registered nurses, and those from further afield who wish to study at the University of Highlands and Islands and then work in the region.

It is being delivered through a £500,000 pilot scheme and will start in January. The Scottish Government will fund tuition fees for 20 students and provide bursary support for those currently not in employment.
