What’s the last piece of clothing you bought?

A black and white duster coat from East in their closing down sale. Gutted. Love that shop.

What are you addicted to buying?

Secondhand silk ties, I cut them up and make them into patchwork quilts. And flat heeled boots.

Best ever bargain?

All the clothes I ever “borrowed” off my sister. My favourite was a long white oversized white fake fur coat. I was the Nineties answer to Mark Bolan.

Who has great style?

Oh I hate that word, it’s so subjective. Although, I am a great admirer of how your average four-year-old dresses themselves if left to their own devices; spots, stripes, multi layers, topped off with swimming goggles.

Name your favourite high street shop.

M&S for staples. I’ve also been tempted by Coast, Pepperberry and anything in the John Lewis sale that shows off my waist and boobies.

Any fashion disasters you’d care to tell us about?

Where to start? Maybe my 1983 pink mohair v-neck, my far too long sweater dress or my red and gold pedal-pushers with matching shirt.

What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe?

My purple Damsel in a Dress frock, for its old fashioned Fifties glamour. In my head I’m Grace Kelly though in the flesh I’m more Matthew Kelly. n
