Wicked

-

It’s been hailed as a “true modern classic”, and is already among the West End’s longest-running shows; and now Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman’s 2003 musical Wicked, which imagines a parallel universe to the one conjured up by Frank L Baum in The Wizard Of Oz, has arrived at the Playhouse in Edinburgh for a four-week run. Sophie Evans plays lovely Gilda and Alice Fearn wicked Elphaba, in this story of two young witches who first meet as sorcery students, and whose lives take very different paths. The show has a cast of 37, and a playlist of almost 20 songs, including theme song No One Mourns The Wicked. Playhouse, Edinburgh, until 9 June, 0844 871 3014
