Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson says his team “can turn a very good season into a very special one” by bringing the Scottish Cup back to Fir Park.

The Steelmen rounded off their league campaign by sealing seventh spot with a 3-0 home victory over Hamilton. They broke a club record by keeping their 20th clean sheet of the season and did it comfortabl­y, with goalkeeper Russell Griffiths untroubled. Motherwell now go into Saturday’s Hampden clash with Celtic in a positive frame of mind. He said: “People said we would down tools when we had the cup final in our minds. But we don’t allow that.
