£100,000 drugs haul recovered by police on A9

Two men have appeared in court on drugs charges after police recovered around £100,000 worth of cannabis from a car on the A9.

Officers stopped the vehicle south of Inverness on Friday afternoon.

Colin Gray, 43, and Trevor Whitley, 45, faced charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 when they appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court on Friday.

The men, both from Alexandria in West Dunbartons­hire, were also charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Neither man entered a plea.
