Addleshaw Goddard is reappointe­d with Co-op

Law firm Addleshaw Goddard has been reappointe­d to the Co-op’s legal panel, it emerged yesterday.

The practice has been appointed to provide full service advice to the Coop’s food retail, funeral services, general insurer, legal services and other businesses. It follows a formal tendering process.

The Co-op, which is headquarte­red in Manchester, has appointed seven other firms to its panel.

Co-op relationsh­ip partners James Whittaker and Andy Green lead Addleshaw Goddard’s team, have advised the group for more than 18 years.

Whittaker said: “This appointmen­t not only allows us to continue our associatio­n with the Co-op, but allows us to continue to develop innovative ways of working on a number of new projects.

“This is an exciting time for Co-op as it continues to diversify and build its varied businesses and further promote its heritage to customers across the United Kingdom.

“We are thrilled to be able to play a continuing role within this.”
