Girl reported over fire near school

A 14-year-old girl is to be reported in connection with a fire near a primary school.

Firefighters were called to a play park near Milton of Leys school in Inverness around 7pm on Monday.

Officers said wood chips had been set alight and an area of rubber base matting was also damaged.

The teenager is to be reported to the Children’s Reporter in connection with the fire.

Nobody was hurt but Inspector Murdo Macleod warned over the potential dangers of starting fires.
