Ex-coach faces child sex charges

A former youth football coach and scout is to stand trial accused of the historical sexual abuse of boys aged under 16.

Michael “Kit” Carson, 74, pleaded not guilty at Cambridge Crown Court to 12 counts of indecent assault and one of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. The allegations involve a total of 11 victims.

Carson, from Cambridge, has worked at Norwich City, Peterborough United and Cambridge United. He was bailed until an administrative hearing on 20 July.
