Attacker hunted after man, 21, stabbed in street

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in an Ayrshire street.

The 21-year-old suffered a back injury after being knifed by another man at Burns Terrace, Ardrossan, just after 6pm on Monday.

The victim was able to walk along the street for a short distance but then collapsed, police said.

He was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, where staff say he is in a serious but stable condition. The suspected is described as being white, in his 20s and about 5ft 7ins tall. He was wearing a grey hoodie.
