a period of stability with independence “off the table” to remove the uncertainty and allow businesses to have confidence in Scotland and build the economy here. There is no way any sane person would vote for independence that will inflict hardship on their family.

Bertyfish I agree with Sturgeon, Scottish independence will never be off the table. There will always be a section of the Scottish population who wish to see Scotland break away from RUK. To achieve independence the Government will have to get the Scottish economy working and improve the lives of the Scottish population then ask the people, do they want independence? Then and only then they may get a YES vote. Just back from hol in rural Italy and it is clear that although some road surfaces are not marvellous they are considerably better than Scotland – potholes are nothing like the cavernous variety we see here – and Italy is supposed to be broke!
